Technical / Fantastic Attack is a playstyle where players aim to score as high as possible. Technical charts feature tricky patterns or rhythms to challenge the player's accuracy and technical execution.
Technical songs will often use the description field to give an overview of which techniques will be tested. Common tech. notation include XO (crossovers), FS (footswitch) and BR (brackets).

The ultimate goal of the technical / FA play style is to achieve the highest possible judgment on each note. In ITG, this would involve getting a Fantastic on every note in the chart by hitting each within 23 milliseconds. Some Stepmania Themes have a mode called FA+, which added a tighter timing window, Blue Fantastic, which is 15ms. Tournaments often feature this 15ms window. If players are playing on the FA+ setting, this is achieved by splitting the Fantastic window into two, with Fantastics that have an error of less than 15ms being a Blue Fantastic, and all others being a White Fantastic. For players using the Waterfall theme, the 15ms window is referred to as the Masterful window.
Themes and tournaments may modify the points assigned to each of the judgements. Modifications of this sort often address the overly harsh impact of a Miss in ITG's standard scoring system.
XGuys1Pack: A group pack series ran by MaxxStorm1, mainly consisting of charts that focus on tech elements that aren't too technical, with some exceptions. The difficulty range consists of 1-14 with mixes ranging from 14-17, full lowers included.
Dimocracy: A community organized pack series ran by Dimo, where every chart in the pack is picked through a series of voting rounds. Each round consists of a theme, and the charters of said round anonymously vote for the top 5 or so files. The difficulty range consists of 1-14 with mixes ranging from 14-17, full lowers included.
Bangers Only: A pack series ran by Tony S. (Cowboy Tony) with a main focus on heavy technical elements and *mostly Banger songs. Difficulty range consists of 1-15. There are full lowers for Bangers Only 1, no lowers for Bangers Only 2, and 2 lower difficulties for each chart in Bangers Only 3.
ITL Online 2022 Pack: A pack created by the ITL content comittee for the online event ITL Online 2022, with a focus of tech elements ranging from no tech, to the most technical elements out there. Besides Mixes and select few charts, all charts in this pack come from packs around the entire tech community. The difficulty range consists of 7-16, with no lowers.
